Grid Management Committee Philippines

Ensuring reliable and efficient electricity grid management across the Philippines

About GMC DMC

The Grid Management Committee (GMC) was established by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to oversee Grid operations in the Philippines. As the entity responsible for monitoring Grid Code compliance at the operations level, GMC plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and reliability of the country's power grid infrastructure.

Our committee submits regular and special reports pertaining to Grid operations and initiates enforcement processes for any perceived violations of Grid Code provisions. GMC serves as a crucial link between grid operators, power generators, distribution utilities, and regulatory bodies.

Grid Code Guidelines

The Philippine Grid Code establishes the basic rules, requirements, procedures, and standards that govern the operation, maintenance, and development of the high-voltage backbone transmission system in the Philippines. The Grid Code identifies and recognizes the responsibilities and obligations of three key groups:

  • Grid Owner
  • System Operator
  • Grid Users

GMC oversees the implementation of these guidelines and ensures all stakeholders adhere to the established standards.
